Open for summer 2012. Evening meals available.

The Alps in the summer are magnificent.  There are rolling green pastures scattered with alpine flowers, there are huge forests full of flora and fauna and all of this is set off with a back drop of spectacular snow capped mountains.

If you are looking for an activity holiday, a relaxing holiday or a mixture of both this is the place for you.

The Alps have so much more to offer than just the skiing in the winter.  Let us open your eyes to the beauty of the alps in the summer and all they have to offer.  You can focus your week on a specific activity or let us help you enjoy the full range of things on offer.

The activities here in the summer are numerous. Whether you are interested in sedate walks, glacial hiking, white water rafting, pony trekking, via ferrata (climbing), mountain biking, skiing or just plain sightseeing we have it all here in the Alps.

Walking

There are so many walking opportunities in the Alps in the summer I don't even know where to start.  If you fancy some nice gentle walks taking in the local villages and scenery then  you can do that.  If you want to do some more serious day hikes taking in a few peaks then that can be arranged as well or, if serious hardcore glacial hiking staying in a refuge hut for the night is your thing then this is the place for you.

Mountain Biking

One of the most popular sports in the valley is mountain biking.  There are numerous routes available in all the resorts, from the hard riding down hill runs to the more meandering valley floors.  All this is aided by the use of the lift systems to get you to the top.  You can hire mountain bikes in resort and organise a guide for the day.

Road Cycling

This is a very popular area for road cycling and regularly appears in the Tour de France.  There are several cols (mountain passes) in the area as well as some flatter cycling down in the valley, so there is something for everyone.

Sightseeing

Located on the border with Italy, La Rosiere is ideally situated for day trips into Italy over the stunning Col de Petit St Bernard.  The Col itself is steeped in history and is where Hannibal crossed the Alps with his elephants.  You can then move into the stunning Val d'Aoste either heading towards the ancient Roman city of Aoste or towards Courmeyer and Chamonix.

Golf

There are several golf courses within an easy drive. We even have our own 9 hole high altitude course here in La Rosiere. A half days golf can easily be combined with other activities or sight seeing to make the perfect day out.

Booking

During the spring, summer and autumn we are always happy for you to book in on a nightly basis. You can then either eat with us at the chalet or take advantage of the restaurants in the village.

We aim to be as flexible as possible so that you get the service you require.
